Graduate of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the Hellenic Mediterranean University. He has worked and gained experience in IT projects such as a) development of an Alzheimer Cognitive testing platform implemented in an Ionic multiplatform app in production stage, b) Sudoku game implementation in Java Swing, c) online stores and websites for electronics and catering businesses (in Bootstrap, javascript, PHP, Java Springboot), d) a health dashboard using Dart/Flutter for the visualization of individual health data, e) design and development of a research Prototype system for the production of personalized travel recommendations.

Myron Tsatsarakis

PhD Candidate at the University of Crete and FORTH- ICS. He received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2019 and his Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2022, both from the University of Crete. He gained multicultural teamwork experience by participating in various user interaction design projects during his Erasmus exchange program at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has 18 months of professional experience in performance engineering and 6 months of research and teaching assistance experience at the Technical University of Munich, Germany.

Christos Maikos

Christos Maikos holds a degree in ICT Engineering from Harokopio University and, since 2021, has been pursuing a PhD in the fields of image processing and deep learning. He works as an associate at A.M.S., having contributed to the implementation of cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence/machine learning solutions. He has a proven track record in the design, implementation, and scaling of software solutions focused on document and image analysis.

Christoula Pantazopoulou, ΜSc

Director of the Documentation Solutions (AMS).Christoula Pantazopoulou holds a Bachelor's degree in History and Archaeology and a Master's degree in Modern and Contemporary Greek History, both from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. For the past 13 years, she has worked at AMS, having contributed to numerous major projects. She currently leads the Documentation Solutions Department. Since 2012, she has been actively involved in the development of the AMS-Capture/Orchestration Digitization and Documentation application suite.

He possesses skills in text analysis, the use of data mining tools, and more.

Yiannis Stamatopoulos, MSc

He has experience in the field of information collection, analysis, and processing applications, with strong expertise in modern natural language processing (NLP) technologies as well as in big data management.

Christophoros Grigoriadis

Christophoros Grigoriadis holds a degree in Mediterranean Studies/Archaeology from the University of the Aegean and certifications in digitization. He has extensive experience in digitization projects, particularly involving historical documents and archival material. For the past 15 years, he has worked in the digitization department at AMS, both as a team member and as its leader. He is the Director of the entire Digitization Solutions Department. Since 2012, he has been actively involved in the development of the AMS-Capture/Orchestration Digitization and Documentation application suite.

Dr. Spyridon Mantzaris

Spyridon Mantzaris was born in 1964 in Piraeus, Greece. He is a graduate of the Department of Statistics and Informatics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and holds a PhD from the Department of Informatics at the same university. He has had a long research and professional career in the fields of text retrieval, natural language processing, image processing, and image understanding. Since 2023, he has been working as an associate of A.M.S.

Ανδρέας Τσίγκρης, MSc

Mr. Andreas Tsigris is the Head of Research and Development and Chief Data Officer at AMS. He is responsible for the design and development of innovative products and services in the fields of Culture, Digitization and Documentation, and broader ICT applications, in collaboration with numerous Universities and Research Centers. He has specialized research experience in advanced document image processing techniques, particularly in novel methods for layout and border detection, image optimization, and automatic document recognition. Mr. Tsigris also has a solid academic and scientific background and has served as a lecturer at the Technological Educational Institutes of Piraeus and Crete.
He has authored and co-authored numerous publications, including books, technical manuals, studies, and peer-reviewed scientific articles in the fields of databases, graphical systems, digitization, artificial intelligence, and image processing. Among his most notable works are the Study of Global Best Practices in AI Technologies and Proposals for Their Integration into Selected Areas of Public Administration (commissioned by the Hellenic Information Society), as well as research on AI-based image enhancement and newspaper page/article segmentation. His presentations have been delivered at leading conferences such as ECDL and ICAR, and published in renowned journals, including the International Journal on Digital Libraries.
Mr. Tsigris has served as scientific director and/or coordinator in R&D projects since 1996 (e.g., PAVET– PENED, SYN, Retex, , “Research – Create – Innovate”, and European FP7 and Horizon programs). He has also worked extensively with major photographic and audiovisual archives in Gulf countries. Mr. Tsigris is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.

Konstantinos Sarimveis, ΜΒΑ

Owner, CEO, and Sales Director of Athens Microfilm Services (AMS) Ltd. Under his leadership, AMS has successfully completed numerous significant digitization projects. He also serves as Lead Project Manager for Digitization and Documentation in over seven co-funded Digital Transformation projects of the Greek public sector, with a total value of hundreds of millions of euros, where AMS participates as a subcontractor with a substantial share of the physical deliverables. Additionally, he represents major international companies in the field of image retrieval and processing from archival materials. He holds numerous certifications related to document and microfilm management and scanning systems. He has also played an active role in the development of the AMS- Capture Digitization and Documentation application suite.

Vasilis Spitadakis

Vasilis Spitadakis, Business and IT Project Consultant with a postgraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete, specializing in telecommunications and computer networks. 1991–2013: Founding member of Forthnet, Greece’s first alternative telecommunications provider, where he held multiple general management and technical leadership roles. He contributed to the early development of Forthnet during its initial phase as a research activity at FORTH (1991–1995) and its transition into a commercial enterprise, eventually becoming a fully established company. He served as R&D Manager, focusing on the development and operation of telecommunications BSS/OSS systems (network management, billing, etc.) and coordinating European and national research projects in areas such as tourism, transportation, healthcare, education, and safe internet navigation. Two of these projects led to the founding and growth of new business ventures, including Forthcrs S.A. and Telemedicine Technologies. He was CEO of Forthcrs S.A., a company providing electronic reservation and ticketing services for transport, tourism, and entertainment sectors. The company became the leading provider of ticketing services in Greek coastal shipping, with international presence and projects. He also co-founded Telemedicine Technologies S.A. (www.tentelemed.com), based in Paris, where he served as Chairman of the Board. The company focuses on eHealth and electronic services for clinical drug trials. He also coordinated for six years the projects that established and operated www.safeline.gr, the Greek internet hotline for online incident reporting. 2013–Present: Innovation Project Manager at Neurocom S.A., responsible for evaluating advanced data analysis and processing systems and transitioning products and services to new technologies. In parallel, he is the founder and manager of MCBS (www.mcbs.gr), a company specializing in reservation systems for transport and tourism, with major projects in cruise travel, ticketing, and electronic tourism and transport services.

Dr Christos Tsalidis

Manager and Representative of NEUROLINGO (and shareholder of Neurocom). He has served as an adjunct professor (under Presidential Decree 407/80) at the University of Patras, the University of the Aegean, and the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Piraeus. He has worked as a researcher at the Computer Technology Institute (CTI), participating in various research and development projects. At NEUROLINGO, his work focuses on the design and implementation of natural language processing systems. In the financial sector, he has designed and implemented systems for remote application communication for the European Central Bank, Eurobank (formerly Bank of Labour), and the Athens Stock Exchange.

Dr. Themis Palpanas (www.mi.parisdescartes.fr/~themisp/)

Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Université Paris Cité, France, and Director of the Data Intelligence Institute of Paris. He is an elected senior member of the French University Institute (IUF). In the past, he has held positions at the University of California, Riverside; the University of Trento; and the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. He has also been a visiting researcher at Microsoft Research and IBM Almaden Research Center. Dr. Palpanas is internationally recognized for his expertise in the management, indexing, and analysis of time series data.

Dr. Grigorios Tsagkatakis (users.ics.forth.gr/~greg/)

Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Crete, and affiliated with the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) at FORTH. Between 2019 and 2021, he was a Marie Skłodowska–Curie Fellow at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA. His research focuses on signal and image processing as well as machine learning. Within the HAR.S.H project, he will mainly contribute to the development of image and video embeddings (WP2). He has authored numerous research papers and has received three best paper awards. He is also the holder of one patent and has co-organized several seminars and sessions.

Dr. Panagiotis Tsakalides(users.ics.forth.gr/~tsakalid/)

Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Crete. He has served as Vice Rector for Financial Planning, Infrastructure, and Development at the University of Crete, and as the University’s Rector. He is the Head of the Signal Processing Laboratory and the Deputy Director of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) at FORTH. Since 2003, he has coordinated 9 European projects funded by the European Commission and 13 national projects, with a total budget exceeding €15 million. Since 2023, he has been coordinating the TITAN project, with a budget of €2.5 million, aimed at establishing a center of excellence in computational science, machine learning, and computational astrophysics. His research interests focus on statistical signal processing and machine learning. He has authored over 230 technical publications in these fields, including 60 journal papers.

Dr. Panagiota Fatourou (www.ics.forth.gr/~faturu)

Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Crete, and affiliated faculty member at the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH). She is considered one of the leading European scientists in the field of parallel and distributed computing. Dr. Fatourou has extensive experience in project management. She has received a faculty grant from H.F.R.I. (Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation), a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship from the European Commission, and an ENTER grant from the Greek Ministry of Education. She was the coordinator of the Marie Curie Training Network TransForm (GA no. 238639, budget > €2M), principal investigator (together with Prof. M. Katevenis) of the GreenVM project funded by the ARISTEIA program of the Greek Ministry of Education, and Greece’s representative in the COST Actions Euro-TM and CA19122. She has participated in over 20 additional research and development projects, most of which were funded by the European Commission. She also has significant experience in supervising students and early-career researchers. Dr. Fatourou has served as Chair of the ACM Europe Council, is an ACM Distinguished Speaker, and has received numerous accolades for her research achievements.
